Stories about innovations, both successes and (more commonly) failures, fascinate me. Business stories, the people behind them, the factors that made successful or not, all interest me. Why did Xerox in the ‘70s serially fail to capitalize on its innovations? Why did Microsoft succeed? More pertinently, what should Google, Apple, Facebook, … do to continue their growth? How long will it continue? What shouldn’t they do? The answers are not always simple.
Two disciplines — innovation and management, and their attendant practices, success and failures — will always preoccupy me.
This blog is an attempt understand, educate, inform and discuss about such things. My focus will be on a few areas –

I. Love. Travel. I am a curious traveler and enjoy international travel, love exploring different geographies, cultures, history and people. I enjoy photography and will probably include some of my pictures on the blog.
Frequently I enjoy whipping up ethnic cuisine like Thai and Indian. My friends and guests I have served, those who survived the cooking, will give favorable testimony, I’m sure.
I read. A
I take work seriously, but I don’t take myself quite as seriously, and often have a healthy disregard for everything. Even blogs.
